Markus has over twenty years of experience creating and implementing business driven responsibility vision and strategy. He understands how a multinational company, global industry, governmental and non-governmental bodies operate and how they can work successfully together to achieve results.

Besides his expertise in corporate responsibility, Markus is a seasoned leader. He is known for his ability to encourage people from various cultural and organizational backgrounds to be enthusiastic and effective as team members.

He has held several key positions in Nokia, eventually leading global sustainability activities. During this time, Nokia became the leading company in communications technology sector in sustainability and corporate responsibility and was recognized for example by Dow Jones Sustainability Index as a sector leader, Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) A rating and Interbrand ranked Nokia 6th on its Best Global Green Brand ranking across all industries in 2014.
